About the artist

Welcome! My name is Åse Fagervik. I am a visual artist, living and working in Trondheim, Norway. My gallery (Gallery Waterloo) can be found at Nyhavna in Trondheim. (Address: Kobbes gate 10A.)

I am an intuitive painter where the inner landscape ends up on the canvas. I paint mostly abstract expressions, but with figurative elements in between. I work mostly with acrylics, but occasionally I also use acrylic spray, textures, charcoal and chalk.

I am known for my colorful style as well as circular formations that often appear in my art. There is a powerful and special painting process that appears during my creative period, where wonder, hope, light and love transcends into my work. I feel humbled and grateful.

I have had a number of exhibitions over the years, both in Norway and abroad. In recent years I have been represented with my artwork in New York, Paris, Florence, Milan, Cannes and Palermo.

I also produce art products such as silk and wool scarves with my prints on them.

In addition to being a painter, I am also a writer. I always need a pen and paper by my side, as words show up continuously in my head and need to be written down momentarily. My thoughts turn into words which again turn into poems and small stories.I am currently working on an artbook with my poems which will hopefully be finished by 2022.

I am also launching another book project soon. Stay tuned:-)

Through my art, I hope to contribute to something positive for others. It gives me purpose, when my art touches people in som shape or form. That is my driving force.

Januar 2020: Ble utvalgt til å motta en prestisjetung kunstpris, ”The International Leonardo da Vinci” pris, med overrekkelse i Firenze i januar 2020. Utvalgt som 1 av 150 kunstnere worldwide.
2019

Mars 2019: New York, ble utvalgt ut som 1 av 100 kunstnere til å åpne et nytt stort galleri på Manhatten.
Oktober 2019: Plukket ut til å delta i en kollektivutstilling i Carrousel du Louvre, Paris.
